Bible Verse: Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Meaning of Jeremiah 29:11
Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the most comforting promises in Scripture. God spoke these words to the Israelites during their exile in Babylon—a season of waiting, uncertainty, and hardship. Even then, God assured them that He had not forgotten them and that His plans for their lives remained good.
This verse reminds us that God’s perspective is greater than our present circumstances. There may be moments when life doesn’t make sense, doors seem closed, or prayers appear unanswered, but God is still at work behind the scenes. Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wonderful plans for my life. Even when I cannot understand what You are doing, I choose to trust Your wisdom and Your timing. Fill my heart with hope and help me to walk confidently into the future You have prepared for me. Remove every fear, disappointment, and doubt, and remind me daily that You are working all things together for my good. May my life bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
